.. it is an option. but it doesn't fit very well when installing it on surfaces.. the velcro doesn't provide much resistance.

Came in 8 days way to long for the wait but it was not what it seem as the pic but im going to put it to use to see if my cats will use it an like it hopefully they will.

I bought this many times in the past, i use it to replace the rope on my cat scratcher poles: it works perfectly, is easy to apply with some staples and lasts a long time.
